How CHANEL batch codes work: Depending on the code format, the first two digits are a rolling production counter: each month the number goes up by one, and the whole sequence repeats every 96 months (8 years). The remaining digits are a batch serial inside that month.

How to find the CHANEL batch code
On most CHANEL bottles the code is stamped on the base of the bottle or printed on the bottom of the box. On flacons with a sticker it can also sit on the cellophane or the label edge. Read it exactly as printed — letters and digits both matter.

Why does my code give a different year on another website?
