Samouraï is the French fragrance line created for the actor Alain Delon, named after Jean-Pierre Melville's 1967 film Le Samouraï. Rooted in the Alain Delon perfume house that emerged around 1980, the line ran from the early 1980s into the early 2000s with the masculine Samouraï Eau de Toilette (1995), the floral Samouraï Woman (2001), and a long chain of flankers including Samouraï Air, Samouraï 47, Samouraï Silver, Samouraï Light and Samouraï Blue — plus the Vanity series created with Japanese singer Miliyah Katō. Today Parfums Samouraï sits inside the Lalique Group perfume portfolio, with SPR Japan as the authorised Japanese distributor.
